¿Qué es Bicillin C-R?
Bicillin C-R es un antibiótico inyectable de acción prolongada que consiste en una combinación de penicilina G benzatina y penicilina G procaína. Se utiliza principalmente para tratar infecciones moderadamente severas causadas por organismos susceptibles a la penicilina, incluyendo ciertas infecciones respiratorias, de la piel y de los tejidos blandos. Bicillin C-R se administra por vía intramuscular y se utiliza a menudo en situaciones donde es necesario un prolongado contacto con los antibióticos para combatir la infección.Side Effects
- Change in how much or how often you urinate, bloody or cloudy urine, difficult or painful urination
- Numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands, arms, legs, or feet
- Pale, gray, or blue lips, nails, or skin, dark urine, headache, lightheadedness, unusual tiredness or weakness, trouble breathing
Warnings
- This medicine can cause diarrhea. Call your doctor if the diarrhea becomes severe, does not stop, or is bloody. Do not take any medicine to stop diarrhea until you have talked to your doctor. Diarrhea can occur 2 months or more after you stop taking this medicine. It may occur 2 months or more after you stop using this medicine.
- Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or if they get worse.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, heart problems, lung or breathing problems, a blood disorder, G6PD deficiency, or a history of asthma or allergies, including a previous allergic reaction to a cephalosporin antibiotic.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Serious skin reactions, including Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, drug reaction with eosinophilia and systemic symptoms (DRESS), or acute generalized exanthematous pustulosis (AGEP)Blood problems, including methemoglobinemia
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
