¿Qué es Cinvanti?
Cinvanti (aprepitant) es un medicamento inyectable utilizado en la prevención de náuseas y vómitos asociados con la quimioterapia contra el cáncer, incluidos los regímenes de quimioterapia altamente emetogénicos (alto riesgo de causar vómitos). Funciona como un antagonista del receptor P/neuroquinina 1 (NK1), bloqueando efectivamente la acción de un neurotransmisor clave involucrado en desencadenar los reflejos de náuseas y vómitos. Generalmente, Cinvanti se utiliza como parte de una terapia combinada para mejorar la eficacia antiemética.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, or fainting
- Blistering, peeling, or red skin rash
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease or blood clotting problems.
- It is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Birth control (including pills, rings, implants and other devices) may not work as well to prevent pregnancy when used with this medicine. Use another form of birth control that does not contain hormones (including condoms or spermicide) along with your pills. Use an effective form of birth control during treatment with this medicine and for 1 month after the last dose.
- Your doctor will check your progress and the effects of this medicine at regular visits. Keep all appointments.
