¿Qué es Nilotinib Hcl?
Nilotinib HCl es un inhibidor de la tirosina quinasa utilizado principalmente en el tratamiento de la leucemia mieloide crónica (LMC) en pacientes que son resistentes o intolerantes a terapias previas, incluido el imatinib. Al dirigirse e inhibir selectivamente la quinasa BCR-ABL, Nilotinib ayuda a reducir la proliferación de células leucémicas, gestionando así la progresión de la enfermedad. Se administra por vía oral y requiere un monitoreo cuidadoso debido a posibles efectos secundarios como la prolongación del QT.Side Effects
- Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Fever, chills, cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, body aches
- Confusion, weakness, muscle twitching
Warnings
- Oral routeIt is not safe to take this medicine during pregnancy. It could harm an unborn baby. Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant. Use an effective form of birth control during treatment with this medicine and for at least 14 days after your last dose.
- Do not breastfeed during treatment with this medicine and for at least 14 days after the last dose.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments. You will also need to have an ECG test (electrocardiogram) to check your heart rhythm.
- Oral routeMedicines used to treat cancer are very strong and can have many side effects. Before receiving this medicine, make sure you understand all the risks and benefits. It is important for you to work closely with your doctor during your treatment.
- This medicine may make you bleed, bruise, or get infections more easily. Take precautions to prevent illness and injury. Wash your hands often.
