¿Qué es Tolvaptan?
Tolvaptán es un antagonista selectivo del receptor V2 de vasopresina utilizado principalmente en el tratamiento de la hiponatremia asociada a condiciones como el síndrome de secreción inadecuada de hormona antidiurética (SIADH) e insuficiencia cardíaca. Al inhibir la acción de la vasopresina, promueve la aquaresis, lo que conduce a un aumento en la excreción de agua libre sin una pérdida significativa de electrolitos. Tolvaptán también está aprobado para ralentizar el deterioro de la función renal en pacientes con enfermedad renal poliquística autosómica dominante (ERPAD).Side Effects

- Trouble talking or swallowing
- Trouble controlling body movement, weakness in the arms or legs
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease (including cirrhosis), dehydration, or high potassium levels in the blood. Tell your doctor if you have trouble eating enough or might be malnourished. Also tell your doctor if you drink alcohol regularly.
- Do not breastfeed during treatment with Jynarque„¢.

- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Tell your doctor if you stop taking this medicine. You may need to limit how much water and other beverages you drink. You should never start taking this medicine again on your own. You must do that in a hospital where your sodium levels can be tested.
