¿Qué es Zontivity?
Zontivity (vorapaxar) es un medicamento antiplaquetario que funciona bloqueando un receptor específico llamado PAR-1, que las plaquetas utilizan para aglutinarse. Al inhibir este receptor, Zontivity ayuda a reducir la formación de coágulos sanguíneos y se utiliza principalmente para disminuir el riesgo de infarto de miocardio, accidente cerebrovascular y muerte cardiovascular en pacientes con antecedentes de enfermedad cardíaca o enfermedad arterial periférica.Side Effects
- Unexplained nosebleeds
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Pink, red, or dark brown urine, red or black stools
Warnings
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease, a history of bleeding problems, or you recently had surgery.
- This medicine may increase your risk for bleeding and bruising.
- Tell any doctor or dentist who treats you that you are using this medicine. You may need to stop using this medicine several days before you have surgery or medical tests.
