What is Adakveo ?
Adakveo (crizanlizumab-tmca) is a monoclonal antibody medication developed for reducing the frequency of vaso-occlusive crises in individuals with sickle cell disease ages 16 and older. It works by blocking P-selectin, a cell adhesion molecule involved in blood vessel inflammation and blockages. Administered via intravenous infusion, Adakveo helps to prevent the painful episodes and complications associated with these crises.
