What is Ceftazidime ?
Ceftazidime is a third-generation cephalosporin antibiotic effective against a broad spectrum of Gram-negative bacteria, including Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It is commonly used in the treatment of severe respiratory, urinary tract, skin, and intra-abdominal infections, particularly those that are hospital-acquired. Ceftazidime works by disrupting the synthesis of the bacterial cell wall, leading to cell death.
