What is Cinvanti ?
Cinvanti (aprepitant) is an injectable medication used in the prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with cancer chemotherapy, including highly emetogenic (high risk of causing vomiting) chemotherapy regimens. It functions as a substance P/neurokinin 1 (NK1) receptor antagonist, effectively blocking the action of a key neurotransmitter involved in triggering nausea and vomiting reflexes. Cinvanti is generally utilized as part of a combination therapy to enhance antiemetic efficacy.
