Dorzolamide/timolol maleate is a medication used to reduce high pressure in the eye due to glaucoma or ocular hypertension. This drug contains a beta blocker (timolol) and a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor (dorzolamide). Dorzolamide/timolol maleate works by reducing the fluid in your eye. Dorzolamide/timolol maleate is a generic medication also sold under the brand name Cosopt. The components of this drug have been available for years. For the treatment of high eye pressure, dorzolamide/timolol maleate use is common.

  • Bitter or unusual taste
  • Vision changes, burning, itching, or irritation in your eye
  • Redness, pain, or swelling of your eye or eyelids
  • Muscle weakness
  • Chest pain, trouble breathing, cold sweat, bluish skin
  • Blistering, peeling, or red skin rash
  • Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
