Cyklokapron is classified as a miscellaneous coagulation modifiers drug. It is a man-made form of the protein amino acid. This medication is used to prevent hemorrhage in patients with hemophilia. It works by stopping the body's enzymes from breaking down blood clots. Cyklokapron is taken prior to dental operations and up to 8 days after.
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
- Pain, redness, or swelling where the needle is placed
- Chest pain, trouble breathing, coughing up blood
- Pain in your lower calf
- Vision changes.
- Numbness or weakness in your arm or leg, or on one side of your body
- Sudden or severe headache, problems with speech or walking
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Blurred or other changes in vision
- Lightheadedness, dizziness, fainting
- Seizures
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, eye or vision problems, or a history of seizures. Tell your doctor if you are having surgery for a heart or blood vessel problem.

- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
