What is Diazoxide ?
Diazoxide is a potent vasodilator used primarily to treat chronic hypertension and hypoglycemia associated with insulinoma. It functions by inhibiting insulin release from the pancreas and causing peripheral vasodilation, thereby reducing blood pressure and increasing blood sugar levels. The medication is administered orally or intravenously, depending on the condition being treated.
