What is Ibsrela?
Ibsrela (tenapanor) is a prescription medication used for the treatment of irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C) in adults. It works by inhibiting the sodium/hydrogen exchanger 3 (NHE3) in the gastrointestinal tract, which reduces sodium absorption and increases bowel movements. This helps relieve abdominal pain and constipation associated with IBS-C.

- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Severe diarrhea
Warnings
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease or other stomach or bowel problems.
- This medicine may cause severe diarrhea.
