What is Motegrity?
Motegrity (prucalopride) is a prescription medication used to treat chronic idiopathic constipation (CIC) in adults. It works by stimulating the muscles in the intestine to promote bowel movement, thereby enhancing gastrointestinal motility. This selective serotonin type 4 (5-HT4) receptor agonist is typically recommended for individuals who have not responded adequately to other laxative treatments.Side Effects
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Changes in mood or behavior, agitation, anxiety, restlessness, thoughts or attempts of hurting yourself or others
Warnings
- Keep all medicine out of the reach of children. Never share your medicine with anyone.
- This medicine may cause worsening of depression and thoughts or attempts of suicide. Make sure family members know about this. Always tell your doctor about any behavior changes, depression, intense feelings, or thoughts of hurting yourself or others.

- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have kidney disease, or a history of depression or mood problems.
