What is Radiogardase ?

Radiogardase, also known as Prussian blue insoluble or ferric hexacyanoferrate(II), is an oral medication used to treat thallium poisoning and non-radioactive cesium poisoning, as well as to enhance the elimination of radioactive cesium from the body following radiological or nuclear exposure. This agent functions by binding to cesium and thallium ions in the intestines, thereby reducing their systemic absorption and facilitating their excretion in feces, effectively reducing the body's burden of these toxic substances.
