What is Skyrizi ?
Skyrizi (risankizumab) is an immunosuppressive drug primarily used for the treatment of moderate to severe plaque psoriasis. It works as an interleukin-23 antagonist, targeting specific proteins in the immune system to reduce inflammation and other symptoms associated with the condition. Skyrizi is typically administered by subcutaneous injection and is recommended for adult patients who are candidates for systemic therapy or phototherapy.
- Back or joint pain
- Tiredness
- Headache
- Itching of the genitals or other skin areas
- Pain, redness, swelling, or itching where the needle is placed
- Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
- Change in how much or how often you urinate, bloody or cloudy urine, lower back or side pain
- Dark urine or pale stools, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite, stomach pain, yellow skin or eyes
- Fever, chills, cough, sore throat, stuffy or runny nose, body aches
- Unusual bleeding, bruising, or weakness
- Tell your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you have liver disease, any type of infection, active tuberculosis (TB), or a history of TB.
- You will need to have a skin test for tuberculosis (TB) before you start this medicine. Tell your doctor if you or anyone in your home has ever had a positive TB skin test or has been exposed to TB.
- This medicine may cause the following problems:Increased risk for infections, which may be life-threateningLiver problems
- Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
