¿Qué es Truvada?

Truvada es un medicamento recetado usado para tratar el VIH. También puede utilizarse para ayudar a prevenir la transmisión del VIH si se usa en conjunto con prácticas sexuales seguras. Actualmente no hay un medicamento genérico de Truvada disponible en el mercado. El costo de un suministro de 30 tabletas orales de Truvada (200-300 mg) es de aproximadamente $1,906, dependiendo de su seguro y la farmacia que frecuente.

Side Effects

• Fever, chills, cough, runny or stuffy nose, sore throat, and body aches
• Allergic reaction: Itching or hives, swelling in your face or hands, swelling or tingling in your mouth or throat, chest tightness, trouble breathing
• Bone pain

Warnings

• Your doctor will do lab tests at regular visits to check on the effects of this medicine. Keep all appointments.
• Tell your doctor if you are pregnant, or if you have kidney disease, liver disease (including hepatitis B), or bone problems (including osteoporosis).
• Do not breastfeed. You can spread HIV or AIDS to your baby through your breast milk.

• Your immune system may get stronger when you start taking HIV medicines. This could cause a hidden infection in your body to become active. Tell your doctor right away if you notice any changes in your health.
