What is Posaconazole ?

Posaconazole is a triazole antifungal agent used in the prevention and treatment of invasive fungal infections. It works by inhibiting the fungal enzyme lanosterol 14α-demethylase, disrupting membrane synthesis in susceptible fungi. Posaconazole is particularly effective against Aspergillus and Candida species and is available in oral and intravenous formulations.
