Eczema treatment online

Itchy, angry skin that OTC cream will not calm? Get something stronger.

Eczema causes dry, itchy, inflamed skin that comes and goes in flares. When moisturizers and OTC hydrocortisone are not enough, a prescription-strength steroid cream usually brings a flare under control. A provider can review photos and your history online and pick the right strength for the area.

Eczema questions

What is the best prescription cream for eczema?

It depends on where the eczema is and how severe it is. Milder steroids like hydrocortisone are used on the face and folds; medium ones like triamcinolone on the body; strong ones like clobetasol briefly on thick patches. The provider picks the strength.

Are steroid creams safe?

Used as directed for short periods, yes. Strong steroids used for a long time, or on thin skin like the face, can thin the skin, which is why the provider matches the strength to the area and sets how long to use it.

What if creams are not enough?

Moderate to severe eczema may need treatments like Dupixent that are best managed by a dermatologist. The provider can tell you when it is time for a referral.

How much does an online visit cost?

A flat $99 for the visit, self-pay, no insurance needed. Medication is paid separately at your pharmacy, where a free Rx.com coupon or your insurance can lower the price.

Will I definitely get a prescription?

No. The provider prescribes only when it is medically appropriate. Sometimes the right plan is OTC treatment or rest, and the provider will tell you if you need to be seen in person.
