Rash & skin questions

Can a doctor diagnose a rash online?

Often, yes. Clear photos plus your history let a provider identify many common rashes. If yours needs a closer look or a test, the provider will tell you.

How do I treat poison ivy?

Wash the skin and anything that touched the plant, then use cool compresses and hydrocortisone. A widespread or very itchy rash may need a prescription steroid cream or pills.

When is a rash an emergency?

Call 911 for hives with swelling of the face or throat or trouble breathing. Get seen the same day for a rash with fever, fast-spreading redness or red streaks.

How much does an online visit cost?

A flat $99 for the visit, self-pay, no insurance needed. Medication is paid separately at your pharmacy, where a free Rx.com coupon or your insurance can lower the price.

Will I definitely get a prescription?

No. The provider prescribes only when it is medically appropriate. Sometimes the right plan is OTC treatment or rest, and the provider will tell you if you need to be seen in person.
